ABOUT US
The Oklahoma Association for Pupil Transportation, or OKAPT...Has the mission to standardize school bus driver education, training, and licensing. OKAPT, an alliance of school bus directors, mechanics, and drivers, has joined forces in a dedicated and strategic front to promote school bus safety professionally to students across the State of Oklahoma. OKAPT plays an active role in the safety process for our state's pupil transportation. Our presence is not motivated by large budgets, prestige, or public recognition. Collectively, our body of members is inspired by the essential resource that our state has...our children.
We have taken and will continue to take a firm stance on the education of and prevention of accidents and injuries that can occur to our children through negligence and irresponsibility. We sincerely hope that through standardized drivers' education courses, both online and onsite, and the adoption of best safety practices, Oklahoma pupil transportation providers will gain the desired confidence, recognition, and respect from their students, school administrators, and communities.

Our Stance

Safety is at the core of everything we do. OKAPT plays an active role in supporting and advancing safe pupil transportation practices across the State of Oklahoma. By collaborating with districts, drivers, and industry partners, we work to strengthen safety standards, share best practices, and continuously improve the systems that protect our students on every route.
