MEET OKAPT'S OKC METRO AREA REGIONAL DIRECTOR
The OKC Metro Area Regional Director serves as a member of the OKAPT Board of Directors and represents the school transportation professionals within the Oklahoma City Metro Area region, generally encompassing organizations located within a 25-mile radius of the Oklahoma State Capitol. Acting as a local leader, advocate, and liaison, the Regional Director promotes communication between member organizations and the Association, shares information regarding OKAPT programs, training opportunities, and events, and helps identify the unique needs and challenges facing transportation professionals throughout the region. Through collaboration, engagement, and regional representation, the OKC Metro Regional Director helps strengthen the Association's presence and advance the mission of OKAPT across central Oklahoma.

Robert grew up on a farm in western Oklahoma and went on to serve his community as a firefighter, retiring in 2007 after a dedicated career. He began driving activity buses for Clinton Public Schools in 1995, marking the start of his long involvement in student transportation. After relocating to Edmond in 2019, Robert joined Deer Creek Schools and, in 2023, stepped into his current role as Field Trip Coordinator and Dispatcher. Family is especially important to him, and his two grandsons are the joy of his life. Robert also enjoys traveling and spending quality time with his wife, DiAnn.
