Meet the Secretary of OKAPT!
The OKAPT Secretary is responsible for maintaining records for the Association including committee proceedings, committee reports, keep organization of the official role, and more!

Tammie White, a dedicated Transportation Manager for Broken Arrow Public Schools, embarked on her journey in transportation in September 2001 when she obtained her CDL. Her initial plan was to drive a school bus until her youngest daughter graduated high school, a goal she achieved in 2009. However, her passion for the school system and her role as a Transportation Manager kept her engaged, and she continues to serve with unwavering dedication.
After attending Broken Arrow Public Schools from 2nd grade to 10th grade, Tammie's family moved to Checotah, Oklahoma, where she graduated in 1987. She then pursued a career in the medical field, becoming a Medical Assistant. However, in 2001, she made a bold and successful transition to transportation management, a decision she has never regretted. This shift not only showcased her adaptability but also her ability to excel in new environments. She drove a school bus route until 2010 when she became the district's Routing Coordinator. She was responsible for all the regular education bus routes and bus assignments and assisted with implementing Tyler Technologies and Versatrans software.
In 2016, she was promoted to the Transportation Supervisor position. In 2019, she took and passed the NAPT classes to receive her certificate as a Certified Supervisor of Pupil Transportation. She was the first female in Oklahoma to receive this NAPT certification.
Currently, Tammie is the Transportation Manager for her district. She plans to continue to work and retire from Broken Arrow Public Schools. She is married and has four children and five grandchildren. She enjoys traveling, camping, fishing, painting, singing, and spending time with her family.
