Through our partnership with Smart Horizons, we offer convenient, web-based training programs that allow drivers, trainers, and transportation personnel to complete required coursework anytime, anywhere.
Whether you're a new driver, renewing your certification, or completing required annual training, our online learning platform provides flexible, self-paced courses designed to meet Oklahoma and federal training requirements.
Our online driver training courses are designed to help both new and experienced school bus drivers complete required training while minimizing time away from work. Courses are available 24 hours a day and can be completed from any computer or mobile device with internet access.

ANNUAL SAFETY RENEWAL TRAINING
The Oklahoma State Department of Education requires school bus drivers to complete annual safety renewal training to maintain certification. OKAPT offers both online and in-person renewal options, providing school districts with the flexibility to meet these requirements in the format that best fits their needs.
Our renewal courses help drivers stay current on safety practices, state and federal regulations, student management, emergency procedures, and other important transportation topics.
CERTIFICATION
OKAPT is dedicated to promoting excellence in school transportation throughout Oklahoma by providing certification opportunities for school bus driver trainers. Our certification program helps ensure instructors have the knowledge, resources, and instructional skills necessary to deliver consistent, high-quality driver training across the state.
By supporting certified trainers, OKAPT helps strengthen transportation programs and promote safe, professional student transportation statewide.
ONLINE TRAINING COURSES
In accordance with OKAPT By-Laws, otherwise posted, pricing for training classes shall be:
- If both the supervisor of the enrollee and the enrollee are members of the Association, class pricing would be $75.00
- If the supervisor and/or the enrollee are not members of the Association, class pricing would be $125.00
